What we offer

We offer a number of programs and services to support your child’s early years learning.

Preschool program

Your child can attend preschool for up to 30 hours per fortnight. Our preschool offers this over a 5 day fortnight arrangement. Sessions are 3 full days in one week, and 2 full days the next week. What to bring

Children need to bring these items each day:

  • bag
  • sun smart hat - broad-brimmed or legionnaire without chin straps (we have bucket hats for sale)
  • change of clothes including underwear and socks
  • drink bottle containing water
  • 2 serves of fresh fruit or vegetables
  • packed healthy lunch in a suitable lunch box

The clothes your child wears or brings to kindy are important. Please make sure your child wears or brings:

  • items with covered shoulders
  • old clothes so they can get dirty
  • clothes that are easy to undo so they can go to the toilet by themselves
  • shoes suitable for running and climbing
  • wet-weather clothing such as a raincoat, wet-weather pants and gumboots so they can participate in wet-weather play.

Please write your child’s name on all their belongings. Please apply sunscreen before coming to kindy.

What not to bring

Children should not bring these things:

  • toys from home
  • unhealthy food or drink (lollies, chocolate, chips, juices or fizzy drinks).

Playgroup

Our playgroup is run by a parent volunteer and offers parents and caregivers the opportunity to spend time learning with their children while interacting with other adults. It is for children aged 0 to 5 years old and utilises the resources and equipment we have on offer. Often in terms 3 and 4 families use this service as another way to become familiar with our kindy before their child starts their regular sessions.

Times

9.30am to 11.00am Thursdays.

Cost

$2 donation per family to help with material costs.

What to bring

  • sun smart hat (we have bucket hats for sale)

Speech and language program

Brentwood Drive Kindergarten is one of 8 centres in Adelaide that host a specialised program for children with significant communication needs. Enrolment is decided by a formal process through the Department for Education. Speech pathologists can refer children who meet the criteria. Offers for entry to the program are made towards the end of term 4. To find out more, contact your speech pathologist or our preschool director. You can also read about the process and eligibility requirements.
