What we offer - Coorara Preschool

We offer a number of programs and services to support your child’s early years learning.

Preschool Program

Times

Your child can attend preschool for up to 15 hours per week.

Children can come for 5 days over 2 weeks.

Monday Tuesday Wednesday Thursday Friday
8.30am to 3.00pm 8.30am to 3.00pm 8.30am to 12.30pm alternate weeks

Fees

Our parent contribution is $100 per term. See our enrolment and fees page for more information.

What to bring

Children need to bring these items each day:

  • bag
  • hat
  • drink bottle containing water
  • 2 pieces of fruit or other healthy snacks
  • packed lunch.

Please write your child’s name on all their belongings.

What not to bring

Children should not bring these things:

  • food containing nuts - some children have nut allergies that can be dangerous
  • unhealthy food or drink - lollies, chocolate, chips, fizzy drinks
  • toys from home.

Additional information

Through play-based learning we focus on the development of your child’s literacy and numeracy skills along with their social skills.

We are an ‘Early learning languages Australia’ (ELLA) site and Spanish is our chosen language.

Children with additional needs are well supported by our skilled staff

Pre-entry visits

Pre-entry come and play sessions are available to your child in terms 3 and 4 the year before they start preschool.

Times

Come and play sessions take place on Thursdays in terms 3 and 4. Your child can access 5 90-minute sessions. Contact us for more information including dates.

Cost

This program costs $30.

What to bring

Children should bring these things:

  • bag
  • hat (provided at your child’s first session)
  • drink bottle containing water

Please write your child’s name on all their belongings.

Additional information

Come and play sessions support your child to transition into kindy. Your child will become familiar with the environment, our staff and some of our routines.

You are welcome to stay with your child until they are settled.

If you are unable to attend these sessions please talk with us. It may be possible to arrange other times.

Early entry

If your child is Aboriginal or under the guardianship of the minister they are eligible to start preschool after they turn 3.

If your child has additional needs or disability, they may be able to access preschool up to 2 terms earlier if the preschool has places available. This is known as early entry.

Times

Times will be decided between you, us and a special educator.

Cost

The cost of this program will be scaled in proportion to preschool program hours.

Playgroup

Our supported playgroup gives you and your child the chance to meet other families and spend time learning together.

Times

9.00am to 10.30am on Fridays during term time except for the last Friday of each term.

Cost

Free.

  • drink bottle containing water
  • a piece of fruit or other healthy snack.

Additional information

If they want to, your child can join our mid-morning story, song time and other kindy routines.

Out of school hours care (OSHC)

If your child is enrolled with us they have access to Coorara Primary School’s OSHC service, run through Camp Australia.

Additional information

We will ensure your child transfers safely between OSHC and kindy.
