Messy Play Playgroup

Kaurna language books

In 2007, Kalaya children were involved in developing a book and CD, 'Kaurna Warraarra Woonbawonbandi - counting in Kaurna'. These were recognised in Australia and overseas.

In 2010, 2 new Kaurna language books and CDs were developed, 'Kuranye Kaurnaarra - Colours in Kaurna' and 'Nunno Kaurnaarra - Body Parts in Kaurna'.

in 2023 we have releiase the new Ngaityu Muiyu- My feelings in Kaurna.

Kalaya Children's Centre performances

Kalaya children occasionally attend community events to share some of the English, Kaurna and Pitjantjatjara songs they have been learning.

If your organisation requests a performance from the Kalaya children, we ask that you provide a donation to the centre. Proceeds will fund language and cultural programs for the children.

Bake your cake and eat it too

Your child can learn a lot when cooking with you. Why not make a cake together? What does the recipe ask for? Do you have all the ingredients?

Splish splash – I’m having a bath

Splish splash, I’m in the bath and having lots of fun. Let your child play, exploring the water and how it moves as they swish their hands and legs. Let them try and scoop up the water with their hands, exploring what happens when they open their fingers. Does the water stay put or does it trickle out slowly and run back into the bath?

Positive Parenting sessions

Join one of the free Positive Parenting sessions to learn simple and practical ways to tackle parenting issues. The sessions are for parents and caregivers of children aged 0 to 12 years.
