Enrolment and fees

Enrolling your child

You can register your interest to enrol your child with us by using the preschool registration of interest form. This form is also available by contacting the kindy.

This form can be completed at any time of the year. In the term before your child is eligible to start preschool we invite you to attend an information session. These are a great opportunity to meet educators and find out more about our site.

Priority will be given to children living in our catchment area. If you don’t live in our catchment area you should indicate at least 2 other preschool options on your form.

If we can give your child a place with us we’ll send you an offer letter in term 3. You can accept the offer by filling in and sending back the acceptance slip by the due date.

Before your child starts

We will contact you in term 3 about an orientation session to be held at the start of term 4. This will be a 1-hour session where you can ask questions.

Before they start preschool your child can attend pre-entry transition visits. These will be in term 4 and will be a chance for your child to meet the staff and other children. Each transition visit gradually increases in time with the last visit being a full day.

Fees

We ask you to contribute towards the cost of your child attending preschool.

The parent contribution is $340 per year. You can choose to pay the total amount at the beginning of the year or to pay 4 instalments of $85 at the beginning of each term.

The parent contribution for pre-entry transition is $20 for the term.

We offer other programs that may have an additional cost.

Health and wellbeing

Health checks

Child and Family Health Service (CaFHS) health checks for 4-year-olds are held at the kindy during the year. These are conducted by a CaFHS nurse.  CaFHS will contact the Director to arrange these times for the site at the start of the year. Families will be informed of scheduled times and be able to book an appointment.

Sick child

If your child is showing any signs of being unwell before coming to kindy it is important to keep them home for the day. Children who have diarrhoea or are vomiting must be kept home for at least 24 hours after the last episode. Please notify staff immediately if your child contracts an infectious disease. Staff will be able to guide you with the appropriate exclusion period. If any child becomes unwell at kindy, parents or guardians or people nominated by parents/guardians will be contacted. Families must collect unwell children as soon as possible to reduce the spread of infection and the risk to children and staff.

Medication

As per dept and local policy Educators cannot legally administer nay medication (including ointment/Panadol/over the counter medicine-non-prescription) unless the appropriate forms have been completed and signed by a doctor including asthma/allergy medication. If your child requires medication the medication must be supplied in the original container clearly marked with the child’s name, dosage and the use by date. Please ask a staff member for the necessary medication forms. This can also be discussed during enrolment. Children with allergies and other long term health issues may require medication to be held at the kindy for use in an emergency situation. An allergy or asthma plan is required for any child who has allergies that requires medication. Always ensure medication is handed to an educator with relevant documentation and not left in your child’s bag.
