Taikurrendi Children and Family Centre

We are committed to reflecting the identity of our community to provide a safe, welcoming place where we respect culture, grow friendships and are kind to each other. Our programs and activities are culturally safe to help support you with your child's learning and wellbeing to develop strong, healthy and independent learners. There are many opportunities for you and your family to connect with our centre. We encourage you to get involved with the programs and services available.

Takurrendi [pronounced Tie-ka-rendi] comes from the local Kaurna Aboriginal language meaning, 'to be mixed, together.'

Getting involved

We support families to be involved in decision making about the services and programs offered in our children's centre. This includes becoming a member of the parent engagement group. To find out more contact our community development coordinator or director.

If you’d like to volunteer with us in another capacity, we’d love to hear from you. See volunteering in schools, preschools and children’s centres and have a chat to us about how you can get involved.

Acknowledgement of Country

We acknowledge and respect the Kaurna people who are the custodians and First Nation of the ancestral lands that we provide our service on. We acknowledge the deep feelings of attachment and relationship of the Kaurna people to country including the land, sea and rivers. We also pay respects to our Elders who continue to provide wisdom, leadership, guidance, advice and support to our service.
