CaFHS
The Child and Family Health Service (CaFHS) is a free service for all families with children from birth to five years old, living in South Australia.
CaFHS runs a five-week 'Getting to Know Your Baby' program here each term.
CaFHS also provides health checks for children. Health checks are routinely done at 6 - 9 months old, at 18 - 24 months old and again at preschool, but can be done anytime.
If you have any concerns about your child’s growth or development, or you'd like to request a health check, please call 1300 733 606 to book a clinic appointment. Please request Ardtornish Children’s Centre when booking.
Antenatal
The Northern Adelaide Midwifery Group Practice visits our site to provide pregnancy check-ups.
Contact them on 8182 9000 for more information.
Other services
We partner with visiting and local allied health professionals and services such as speech pathologists, occupational therapists, psychologists, counsellors, and health and welfare professionals. See our centre time table for programs and services operating on site.
Family practitioner
Family practitioners work alongside vulnerable families and children to help them better understand and respond to their child’s needs. They work with parents, our staff and other organisations to help families find relevant services to maintain safe, caring and resilient relationships for child development.
Family practitioners can provide short-term counselling for families to help with:
- domestic violence
- housing
- drug and alcohol problems
- mental health
- follow up and advocacy.
Please contact us if you think you need help from a family practitioner.
