Fees

The parent contribution is $150 per term. See our enrolment and fees page for more information.

Fees contribute to services along with resources and materials that support each child's learning to ensure the best possible outcomes from learning through play at kindergarten.

What to bring

Children need to bring these items each day:

  • bag
  • hat (-broad-brimmed or legionnaire style)
  • change of clothes
  • drink bottle containing water
  • healthy snack or fruit
  • packed lunch, with cool pack on hot days.

Please write your child’s name on everything they bring.

Please apply sunscreen at home. We will reapply sunscreen, with your consent, in the middle of the day.

Healthy eating

Please bring snack plus lunch:

Snack - Fresh fruits, vegetables are recommended as they provide children with important nutrients and encourage: a taste for healthy foods and ongoing good food choices.

Lunch - A healthy lunch box might include a sandwich, meat and salad, yoghurt, veggie sticks, cheese, crackers, healthy muffins and cakes, homemade muesli bars, dips, mini quiches, savoury biscuits, and extra fruit.

We encourage litter free lunches.

Our preschool is a nut aware centre. We ask that families DO NOT send nut or nut products in their child's lunch box.

Communication

When parents and educators work as a team we provide the optimum opportunities for maximum wellbeing and learning outcomes. Seesaw is our preferred method of communication. You will be provided with a text, email or QR scan invite. We use Seesaw to share notices, newsletters, programming information and snapshots of our learning.

We are also available to chat face to face at any time and welcome communication and feedback.

Clothes

Please send your child in old clothes, as Kindy is a busy, fun and messy place. For safety and wellbeing reasons please provide your child with sturdy and sun safe clothing.

We are more than happy to support toileting, and encourage independence when going to the toilet, so please dress your child in clothes that they can manage themselves, avoiding hard-to-undo belts for your child.

Our Kindergarten Day

We offer a child centred, play based learning environment, supported by strong relationships and a strong sense of wellbeing and belonging.

Children’s interests, learning needs and the Early Years Learning Framework inform our program. Our programme is communicated via Seesaw, we encourage community involvement and feedback ideas are always welcome.

On arrival please sign your child in. Encourage your chid to place their bag in their labelled space under veranda and bring their water bottle and lunch box inside.

The children initially start their day inside inside as staff greet each child and their family, settle children and chat informally with parents. Inside and outside supported learning through free play happens across most of the day.  If the weather is inclement we make greater use of the large playhouse space.

Songs, music and movement, social games, stories and discussions are the foundation of our interactive group times.  Early morning small group work provides strong literacy-based focus in targeted areas according to the children's needs and interests, group focuses on well-being and executive function - particularly self-regulation. Packing up is around 2:45pm.  End of day group is a time for social games and turn-taking while ensuring the children's safety across a staggered farewell.

“Children learn as they play. More importantly, in play, children learn how to learn.”
O.Fred Donaldson
